CLASSES

The 130% rule for qualifying and PSCRV driver seeding criteria always apply.

 

2024 Draft PSCRV Classes

 

  • All Classes are subject to 130% qualifying rule.

  • All Classes are subject to being combined at PSCRV’s discretion, e.g. fewer than 3 entrants (see also point-score criteria for bonus points).

  • All Cars must have an MA Logbook and comply with all General Requirements plus the criteria noted for each class.

  • All Drivers are subject to seeding at PSCRV’s discretion, As a guide, FIA Silver/Gold/Platinum (or as deemed equivalent) are not permitted in the PSCRV Victorian Sports Car championship.

  • Class X invitations are extended to a specific driver/vehicle combination – should either of these change between entry and the event, the PSCRV Committee “invitation to complete” may be withdrawn.

 

Class A-A1/A2/A3

  • FIA GT3 & similar GT style cars. Must comply with most recent BOP requirements as set by AusGT/SRO/MA or Series Document.  

  • A1- FIA GT3 2015-on, up to currently eligible for Trophy Class, NOTE: cars that are only eligible for outright AusGT championship are not allowed. Eligible cars include Audi R8 (Gen 2), Mercedes-AMG GT3, McLaren 650S, Porsche GT3R (991), Lambo Huracan, BMW M6, Ferrari 488, Bentley Continental (Gen 2).

  • A2- FIA GT3 up to 2014 spec and similar performance factory-built GT Cars (e.g. Ferrari Challenge, Lambo SuperTrofeo, early ACO GT2/GTS, SRO GT2). GT3 Cars include Audi R8 (Gen 1), Mercedes-AMG SLS, Lambo Gallardo, Porsche GT3R (997), Aston V12 Vantage, Ferrari 430/458, Nissan GT-R (Gen 1) and Bentley Continental (Gen 1).

  • A3- Invited GT-Style cars, Endurance Specials, and the fastest 2B cars. Eligible Cars include MARC II V8, Nations Cup Monaro 427, SuperGT GT300 Cars. Based on 2022 history, Ben Schoots in the SIN R1 GT would run in this class.

 

Class B-B1/B2/B3


Cars built to MA 2B rules, Lap-Time brackets are taken from the 2022 NSW ProdSports Enduro Series. Eligible cars include MGB GT V8, Ford S197/S550 Mustang, Nissan 200SX/350Z/370Z, BMW F82 M4, Mazda MX-5 inc. turbo), Chevrolet Corvette, Lotus Elise/Exige, Ginetta G50 etc.  NOTE: Time brackets at The Bend may be subject to revision after the first event.

 

  • B1- PI Lap-time 1:32.0000<>1:37.9999. Cars faster than this bracket go to A3.                     Winton 1:22.0000<>1:25.9999                     The Bend 1:52.0000<>1:57.9999

  • B2- PI Lap-time 1:38.0000<>1:43.9999.  Cars faster than this bracket go to B1.                    Winton 1:26.0000<>1:29.9999                     The Bend  1:58.0000<>2:04.9999

  • B3- PI Lap-time 1:44.0000 or slower.  Cars faster than this bracket go to B2.                         Winton 1:30.0000 and slower                     The Bend  2:05.0000 and slower

 

Class C-C1/C2/C3

 

Porsche GT3 Cup Cars & Variants, exc 992 Cup. 2B freedoms apply eg paddle shift, ABS, dampers, wheels, bodywork, Manthey kits etc.

 

  • C1- GT3 Cup Cars over 3800cc; i.e. 991.2 GT3 Cup, earlier cars with upgraded engines (eg: re-engined 997 GT3 Cup S).

  • C2- GT3 Cup Cars up to 3800cc; i.e. 991.1 & 997.2 GT3 Cup, and earlier cars with upgraded engines.

  • C3- GT3 Cup Cars up to 3600cc; i.e. 997.1 & 996 GT3 Cup, and any locally adapted Nations Cup 996 models.

Class D

 

GT4 cars (all years) & variants of. Eligible vehicles include Porsche Cayman (981/718 inc MR Cup), McLaren 570S, Mercedes-AMG GT, KTM X-Bow, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Toyota GR Supra, BMW M4, Ginetta G50/G55 etc.  

NOTE: If a GT4 car from Production Cars national series enters and runs in Production Car specification (R-Spec tyres, then it would be classified in Class E for the Victorian Sports Car championship).  A GT4 car running slicks would be Class D.

 

Class E-E1/E2 

 

Cars built to MA Group 3E regulations; 2-door cars, with maximum 4-seats, split by tyre choice.

Eligible cars include BMW 1M/M2/M3/M4, Lexus RC-F, Ford Mustang FM/FN, Holden Monaro, Audi TTRS, Toyota 86, Mazda RX-8 etc.

-E1- Eligible 3E Cars on SLICK tyres (inc DOT Slicks eg Hoosier R7 style)
-E2- Eligible 3E Cars on TREADED tyres (aka Semi-Slicks, as per Production Car Tyre List or equivalent).

 

Class F

 

Cars built to MA 2F rules, including Porsche 944 Challenge, on TREADED tyres (as above).

 

Class S

 

Cars built to MA Sa/Sb/Sc rules, on TREADED tyres (as above).

 

Class X

 

eXperimental & Invited. Cars that do not meet any of the classes above, and only where the car/driver combination is deemed suitable for competition by PSCRV Committee. No points awarded for Class X entries. Cars could include TA2, Marc I V8, V8 swapped 2-doors, or others.
 

POINT SCORE / CLASSES

Outright points are allocated in race finish order according to official race results (subject to any penalties applied by event stewards) – refer race point in the table below

 

The champions will be recognised as follow:

 

  • Victorian Sportscar Championship winner: Driver with the highest outright points scored – outright points (only) are awarded to the first 12 finishers in each race

  • PSCRV Club Champion: Awarded to the driver who accrued the most points in a class

  • PSCRV Class Champion: Awarded to the driver in each class (A, B, C, D, E and F – subject to a minimum or at least 3 cars entering each class) who accrues the most points. (NOTE: Class X is not awarded points)

  • PSCRV “Rookie of the Year”: Awarded to first time (or returning after a minimum of 5 year break from competition) driver based on class points accrued

Bonus Points
One point for each car in the class that finishes in arrears of this car. 

 

For example, 4 cars in the class:
First in class scores                                16 + 3 = 19
Second in class scores                           14 + 2 = 16
Third in Class scores                              12 + 1 = 13 
Only 1 car in the class scores                 16 + 0 = 16

 

Victorian Sports Car championship presented by PSCRV and PSCRV Club champion will be the highest aggregate class score during the year.

Class Champions will be awarded to the highest individual class scorer in each class.
